WHAT WE ARE ALL ABOUT
Our Mission
Co-Immunity Foundation was established in order to provide a network of support and resources for young people with chronic and invisible diseases, while cultivating awareness and providing education to those that surround them.
Our Vision
Fostering better patient outcomes through the development of support and stress management tactics for healthy-sick humans.
Our Story
Our founder, Madeline Shonka grew up a healthy-sick kid, life with chronic invisible disease was all Maddie ever knew. She was formally diagnosed with Lupus and Narcolepsy with Cataplexy her senior year of high school. The gap in available resources for young adults with chronic illness provided challenges. Navigating college at Wichita State it became obvious the conversation surrounding invisible disabilities was almost non-existent. Changing her major from Nursing to Health Management she founded Co-Immunity Foundation the summer of 2019 and has been working tirelessly to make the vision a reality ever since.
